The Reykjanes Peninsula tour offers a great variety of landscapes, lava fissures, lava fields and geothermal activity. It’s geologically Iceland’s youngest part and it’s easy to forget that the capital center is less than 30 miles (50km) away. On this tour we combine all the best of the peninsula; the lake Kleifarvatn, Seltún geothermal park, the town of Grindavík with its important fishing industry, Gunnuhver, Iceland’s largest geothermal mud pool, and Reykjanesviti lighthouse with its dramatic coast and surreal landscape. We also visit „the bridge between continents“, a symbolic footbridge which crosses a fissure which provides evidence of the continental drift. After that, we might top of our tour with a one hour stop at the relaxing Blue Lagoon*.
Optional stops might include Krísuvíkurbjarg cliffs (dependent on road conditions), the 1887 Hvalneskirkja stone-church and Viking World museum in Njarðvík (entrance not included).
As this is a private tour with a lot of scenery, the schedule and pace is according to your wishes.
*Please note that entry to the Blue Lagoon is NOT included in the tour price and must be pre-booked via the Blue Lagoon website: https://www.bluelagoon.com/
